  • The trio were arrested in connection with the Wednesday, December 18, 2024, stampede that occurred at Islamic High School, Ibadan
  • The incident later resulted in the death of 35 minors while others sustained injuries.

The Chief Magistrate Court in Iyaganku, Ibadan, Oyo State, has ordered that Prophetess Naomi Silekunola, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, and Mr. Abdullahi Fasasi be detained at Agodi Correctional Center.

This decision follows their alleged involvement in the Ibadan Children Funfair stampede that occurred last week.

Under tight security, the three individuals, including Mr. Fasasi, principal of Islamic High School; Alhaji Hamzat, owner of Agidigbo FM; and Naomi Silekunola, estranged wife of Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, were presented before the court on Tuesday regarding the incident.

Their arrest is connected to the stampede at Islamic High School in Ibadan on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, which resulted in the deaths of 35 minors and injuries to others.
