  • A fervent adherent of traditional religion, Balogun, has stirred a ferocious uproar among Islamic communities, sparking a firestorm of tension that now threatens the fragile peace in Oyo State.
  • In a recently circulated video, Balogun is seen openly burning a Quran, symbolizing his disdain and opposition to the sacred text, as he defiantly expresses his controversial beliefs

  • Balogun Aaba, the influential blogger and prominent idol worshipper, also known as the Odofin of Iseyin, has sparked a monumental storm of outrage online following the release of a provocative video that disrespects Islam.

The viral footage, shared through his official Facebook page, shows Balogun boldly challenging a core tenet of Islam—the belief that the Quran is impervious to the flames.

In an audacious demonstration of his defiance, Balogun rips pages from the holy book, igniting them in flames as he claims the notion that the Quran cannot be burned is nothing more than a deceptive fallacy designed to mislead Muslims.

His fiery rhetoric echoes throughout the video, as he urged his followers to abandon their Islamic faith and embrace traditional religion instead, calling it a purer path.

The video quickly gained traction across social media, igniting a fierce backlash from outraged Muslim communities, who condemned Balogun’s actions as nothing short of blasphemy.

The outrage escalated to such a degree that it nearly pushed Oyo State to the brink of an all-out religious conflict between traditionalists and Muslims, as both sides braced for violence in the aftermath.

Amid the growing tension, a group of furious Muslims took matters into their own hands, petitioned security forces who reportedly arrested Balogun and his cohorts.

Reports indicate that his incendiary act could have led to widespread unrest had it not been for the intervention of law enforcement.

  • The heart-wrenching tale of a forgotten Nigerian footballer reignited painful conversations about the plight of athletes after the limelight dims.
  • Once on the brink of greatness, with dreams of becoming a household name, his life took a devastating turn, plunging him into a harsh and unforgiving reality.
  • After a devastating setback that derailed his football career, he recounted how his dreams of donning national colors on the world stage were replaced with the grim reality of daily survival.

  • Ubong Samuel, a former Nigerian Under-17 striker, has bravely shared the painful and heart-wrenching story of how an injury while on national duty forced him to give up his football dreams and led him to becoming a meat seller, a life he never imagined,

In a candid interview on the platform of renowned poverty activist Lucky Udu, Samuel opened up about the devastating turn his life took after playing in the 2011 CAF U-17 African Nations qualifier in Rwanda against the Republic of Congo.

The once-promising football star recalled how he sustained a severe injury that shattered his career and has left him with chronic pain to this day. With palpable anguish in his voice, Samuel revealed the cold reality he faced when he was abruptly dropped from the national team.

Despite the severity of his injury, he said the Nigerian Football Federation callously dismissed his plight, citing a lack of funds to treat his injury.

He spoke of his days under renowned coaches, sharing memories of his early promise and the heights he could have reached.

The once-celebrated striker added that he found himself in an unimaginable situation—forced to sell meat on the streets to make ends meet.

Samuel vividly recounted the humiliation of his new life, how he faced mockery and disdain from many who couldn’t fathom how a man who had once been hailed as a rising star in Nigerian football had ended up in such a state.

  • Governor Okpebholo, a towering figure in the political arena, caused a stir after he made an unexpected appearance at Pastor Jerry Eze’s globally renowned church—a hub for fiery prayers and miraculous testimonies.
  • The governor didn’t stop at being a mere attendee, he ascended the pulpit to deliver a riveting testimony about how his political career had defied the odds.
  • But what began as a spiritual declaration soon devolved into a storm of controversy. Critics slammed Okpebholo for what they perceived as a brazen attempt to politicize a sacred space

  • Popular Nigerian pastor and spiritual leader, Jerry Eze, founder of Streams of Joy International and the force behind the NSPPD prayer movement, has become the subject of fierce backlash after Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, delivered a politically charged testimony during a church service.

In a now-viral video that took social media by storm on Sunday, Governor Okpebholo openly credited his victory in the Edo State governorship election to divine intervention, claiming his political success was a direct result of the prayers and spiritual backing he received from Pastor Jerry Eze’s ministry.

Standing before the congregation, the governor painted his victory as nothing short of miraculous—a testament, he argued, to the power of faith and prayer.

    SEE VIDEO BELOW

But what should have been a moment of celebration for the faithful has instead erupted into controversy, with fiery debates dominating both online and offline spaces.

Critics argue that Pastor Eze, widely regarded as a spiritual authority, crossed an ethical line by allowing the sacred altar to be used for what many perceive as political grandstanding.

Others described the event as a calculated move by Governor Okpebholo to use the church’s massive influence for political mileage.

This incident has reignited a larger conversation about the intersection of religion and politics in Nigeria.

  • After breathing in the long-awaited taste of freedom, Segun Olowookere, a man who was once shackled by the chains of a prison sentence for a minor crime—fowl theft—has stepped forward to unveil the unspeakable horrors that lurked behind the cold iron bars of his 14-year incarceration.
  • His words, raw and laden with the weight of memories that haunt him, is a chilling narrative of a world few truly understand—a world he claims where death, violence, rape and unimaginable suffering became his constant companions.

  • Segun Olowookere, the infamous convict known for his death-for-fowl sentence, recently granted a pardon by Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, has finally opened up about the haunting and harrowing experiences he endured during his time in prison.

In a tell-all interview with The PUNCH, Olowookere recounted the chilling scenes he witnessed within the prison walls—where death was a frequent tragedy and young inmates were subjected to unimaginable cruelty.

Olowookere revealed that after his initial confinement at the Ilesa Correctional Centre in Osun State, he was transferred to the notorious Ibara Prison in Abeokuta.

His trial kept him confined to Ilesa, where he spent years surrounded by hardened criminals, some of whom were serving lengthy sentences for the most heinous crimes.

    His words;

“We were taken to Ilesa Correctional Centre, Osun State, but we moved to Ibara Prison, Abeokuta, on the second day. I was remanded at Ilesa throughout the trial of the case.”

His account took a darker turn as he shared the heart-wrenching details of witnessing the untimely deaths of 128 fellow prisoners, each life lost to the brutality and dehumanizing conditions of the prison.

Olowookere spoke about the rampant abuse within the prison system, revealing how older, violent convicts preyed on vulnerable young inmates, exploiting their innocence and subjecting them to sexual violence.

    Olowookere continued;

“I can recall 126 inmates who have died within 14 years. I know some people who were able-bodied when I got there but have lost one or two parts of their body before I left.

“Some of these hardened criminals and convicts who have spent close to 25 to 30 years in jail would prey on these innocent minors and even sodomise them because they know they do not have anyone to run to.

“These older inmates manipulated younger ones who freshly joined them; they lured the minors with tea, garri and little things to force them to commit sodomy.”

Despite the relentless darkness that seemed to swallow him whole, Olowookere revealed that his time in prison wasn’t entirely devoid of lessons. He spoke about how he began to rebuild himself from the ruins of his shattered existence.

Segun reteirated he acquired new skills—skills that ranged from vocational training to a more profound understanding of his own resilience and the human capacity to survive even the most crushing circumstances.

    He added;

“I do not see the period as a waste. I went to school, I worked as a medical ad hoc staff and I was also able to acquire some skills, which if I am able to gather resources, will earn me a solid means of livelihood.

“We have a pure water factory, bakery, carpentry workshop, and other skill acquisition centres within the facility for inmates to undertake skill acquisition”

  • As the new year unfolds, the Lagos government has reignited its controversial house demolition efforts, citing a mix of urgent urban issues that require immediate attention—from severe environmental hazards and rampant zoning violations to the increasingly dangerous living conditions across the city.
  • Among those whose properties have been destroyed is Chioma Goodhair, a well-known businesswoman whose store was completely flattened in one of the government’s most recent demolition drives.
  • In the aftermath of the devastation, Goodhair, visibly shaken and angered, publicly accused the demolition team of not only destroying her livelihood but also of engaging in theft.

  • The Lagos State Building Control Agency (LASBCA) has waded into the growing storm of controversy surrounding the demolished property of reality TV star Chioma Ikokwu, who has publicly accused the agency of not only unjustly demolishing her business and restaurant in Lekki but also of denying her access to the remnants of her belongings.

Chioma, known for her role on The Real Housewives of Lagos (RHOL), had previously stated that LASBCA officials, backed by policemen, used forceful intimidation to prevent her from salvaging anything after her property was leveled.

In a passionate social media post, Chioma claimed that despite receiving a formal notice from LASBCA to evacuate the premises where she ran her hair business and restaurant, the situation took a darker turn when she and her team were in the process of removing what remained of her belongings after the demolition.

According to Chioma, when she attempted to access her property to salvage equipment and personal items, LASBCA officials blocked her entry and refused to allow her to recover anything, all while using the police to ensure compliance, a move she tagged as theft.

The star’s allegations quickly went viral, drawing fierce backlash against LASBCA, with many questioning the agency’s methods and calling the entire process unjust.

However, the agency has now released a detailed statement to address the controversy, insisting that their actions were entirely justified and part of their duty to enforce building laws in Lagos State.

Adu Adegoke, the Assistant Director of Public Affairs at LASBCA, issued a firm response, stating that the properties witheld in question was not a legal structure but rather illegal attachments to a building.

LASBCA argued that Chioma had been duly served with all the necessary notices required under the law, including “convention,” “seal-off,” and “quit” notices, which are standard procedures for buildings that violate the state’s building codes and regulations. The agency emphasized that the owners were given ample time to rectify the violations but failed to do so.

  • A Nigerian couple recently experienced what many would call a miraculous event—the birth of quintuplets, a rare blessing that most families only dream of.
  • Yet, for the father, this once-in-a-lifetime moment has become a crucible of fear and anguish, exposing the harsh realities of his world.
  • Against the backdrop of Nigeria’s harsh economic realities, the father lamented the cultural and traditional expectations tied to such a unique birth.

  • Ogagbe, a Nigerian dock worker at the bustling Warri Port, found his life turned upside down when he and his wife, Patience, an Itsekiri woman, welcomed an unexpected blessing – quintuplets – just two days after Christmas, on December 27.

The moment, which should have been filled with joy, came with overwhelming financial pressure that saw Ogagbe, who was already struggling to make ends meet, in a state of utter despair.

In a candid interview with Vanguard, Ogagbe revealed the emotional rollercoaster he experienced at Shepherd Hospital in Edjeba, Uvwie local government area, where the five babies were delivered.

His initial reaction to the congratulatory remarks from nurses was a surge of panic and disbelief. In that moment, an overwhelming instinct kicked in – to flee, to run away from the enormous responsibility of raising five newborns at once, coupled with the mounting financial burden.

Ogagbe, already burdened by debt, said he had to borrow a significant sum of money to discharge his wife from the hospital.

Things took a culturally significant turn when Ogagbe realized that, according to the customs of Ekurede Itsekiri, he would not be allowed to bring his quintuplets back to his community for eight days following their birth.

This restriction, rooted in tradition, meant that the young father would face further isolation from his support network, which might have helped with the burdens of child-rearing in the early stages.

Faced with mounting debts, social restrictions, and the fear of being unable to provide for his growing family, Ogagbe turned to the public, making a heartfelt plea to Nigerians for help.

He called for any kind of assistance, particularly a stable job that would provide a consistent monthly income, as he desperately sought a way to take care of his new family.

    His words;

“Initially I wanted to run away when they told me the number of children at the hospital, I wanted to abandon my family. I have not seen this kind of thing before, I only saw this in movies.

“It will not be easy for me and my wife. Three boys and two girls. I heard the governor’s wife is a very good woman, she should come to our aide.

“My wife sells recharge cards at Ekurede Itsekiri. For no,w we can’t go to Ekurede Itsekiri because we were told that it will take eight days before the children will be allowed into the community. We reside at Okurede Itsekiri.”

  • A man, ravaged by the weight of unrelenting regrets and a soul twisted by unspeakable terror, stepped into the harsh light of a platform, desperate to unburden his soul.
  • His voice quivered with a blend of sorrow and terror as he recounted the twisted path he had walked—a path that had led him into the sinister clutches of dark rituals, practices so vile and terrifying they threatened to consume him entirely.
  • He revealed how, in a moment of weakness, he had been seduced by promises of power and wealth, only to be entangled in an unholy web of ritualistic forces, deceit and manipulation.

  • In an emotionally charged and deeply unsettling episode of ConfesswithShuga hosted by Sugar Plum, a young man, his face obscured by a mask, made a chilling confession that left netizens shaken and horrified.

The man, visibly distressed and on the verge of tears, revealed his painful, regret-filled story about his involvement in dark money rituals that had ultimately led him to the brink of death.

The confession began with the man disclosing his humble beginnings. Raised in extreme poverty, he said he was determined to escape the financial struggles that plagued his family.

With the support of his mother, his only surviving parent, he managed to gain admission to a university. But as his studies progressed, he revealed how he found himself overwhelmed by the harsh reality of university life and the crushing financial burden his mother could no longer bear alone.

In his quest for a way out, he disclosed that he met a group of students who appeared to live lives of unimaginable luxury.

According to him, the group led him to a mysterious river, where he was coerced into making a covenant with an ancient, sinister force.

He said a chilling voice from the river declared he would receive unimaginable riches for ten years, but his life would be forfeit after that time, and he was bound to make monthly sacrifices as part of the pact, something he dismissed as insignificant and failed to take seriously.

The young man confessed that the consequences soon caught up with him. He had only enjoyed the lavish wealth for four years before he learned that his ten-year grace had been drastically shortened.

Now, with just two months left to live, he said one month had already passed, leaving him with only one more to survive. In a sobering twist, he shared that one of the friends who had introduced him to this dark path had already met a tragic end.

Consumed by fear and guilt, he broke down in tears, pleading desperately for divine intervention. With his voice shaking, he cried out for God’s mercy, begging for rescue, or for any church willing to intervene and save him from the inevitable, as his time rapidly dwindles.
