Kano govt announces resumption dates for schools

  • Wished teachers, students, and pupils a successful resumption

The Kano State Government has announced Sunday, January 5th, 2025, as the resumption date for all boarding public and private primary and secondary schools in the state for the commencement of the 2024/2025 second-term academic session.

Meanwhile, students in day schools are to resume on Monday, January 6th, 2025.

In a statement signed by Balarabe Abdullahi Kiru, Director of Public Enlightenment of the Ministry, parents and guardians have been called upon to adhere to the resumption dates to ensure smooth operations.

The statement threatened that disciplinary actions would be taken against students and pupils who failed to resume on time.

The State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ali Haruna Makoda, said the government was determined to ensure good education and create an enabling learning environment that could stimulate and encourage students academically.

The statement further wished the teachers, students, and pupils a successful resumption of the second term, saying monitoring exercises would be a routine one to ensure punctuality and efficiency among staff in all schools.
