  • West Ham United has sacked manager Julen Lopetegui after disappointing results, initiating talks with former Chelsea manager Graham Potter as replacement
  • Lopetegui’s tenure ended following a 4-1 defeat to Manchester City, leaving West Ham in 14th place with nine league losses

West Ham United have parted ways with manager Julen Lopetegui just six months after his appointment. The club has initiated discussions with former Chelsea and Brighton manager Graham Potter as a potential replacement.

Lopetegui, 58, was brought in last May following the exit of David Moyes but only officially assumed managerial duties on July 1. Despite initial hopes, his tenure yielded disappointing results, with the team securing only six Premier League wins.

The final blow came on Saturday when West Ham suffered a 4-1 defeat to Manchester City. This marked their ninth loss in 20 league matches, leaving the club in 14th position, just seven points clear of the relegation zone.

West Ham is now in talks with Graham Potter about taking over the managerial role. Reports suggest the club is considering offering Potter a short-term deal to stabilize their season.
