  • According to Tinubu, he was not looking at the number of people in his cabinet but how they could deliver the tasks assigned to them.

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his disapproval of controlling prices to reduce food costs.

Tinubu shared his thoughts on Monday during the presidential media chat, stating that market forces will naturally bring prices down.

He emphasized, “I don’t believe in price control. I’m sorry. What we have to do is to keep supplying the market.”

Tinubu also revealed his reluctance to downsize his cabinet, despite calls to reduce governance costs.

He explained that his focus is on efficiency rather than the number of cabinet members.

According to him, the key is not the quantity of cabinet members but their ability to deliver on assigned tasks.

With the recent cabinet reshuffle and new ministerial appointments, President Tinubu now leads the country with over 50 ministers.

This marks a record number since Nigeria’s return to democracy in 1999.

Tinubu stressed, “You don’t give somebody an assignment that they cannot fulfil. The job description must be efficient and effective.

“Nigeria is a great country. I’m glad we are here. “Let’s pay attention to efficiency. I’m not ready to reduce my cabinet.”
